What is SCRIP?
Scrip is a program offered to our school for purchasing gift cards at a discount and selling them at face value. The amount of profit per card varies from merchant to merchant. This profit is used to help fund our school as well as give tuition assistance. For example: Culvers restaurant sells St. Paul Lutheran School gift cards at 90 cents per dollar. So 10 cents per dollar sold, or 10 percent, is profit or 'rebate'. The school is given 4% of that profit while the student's account is given 6% (40/60 split).
How does SCRIP help me?
St. Paul Lutheran School uses the profits from this program in many ways. In the past, the profits have been used for tuition assistance, new volleyball nets, new water fountains, and many other school improvement projects. In addition, St. Paul Lutheran School shares the profits with its school age families. 60% of the profit from any purchase can be applied to next year's tuition for any child in our school. For example: If you purchase $100 of Culvers SCRIP (Culvers offers a 10% rebate), $4 goes to the school. The other $6 is designated to you. You can designate it to a family, tuition assistance, or the general school operation fund. It is your choice. Each purchase is recorded and totaled. The next year at registration in August, the shared amount designated to your family is subtracted from the amount you owe in tuition for the school year.
Who can purchase SCRIP?
SCRIP can be purchased by anyone. You can purchase it, your family can, even your friends. With each purchase, the option is given where to designate the shared amount. Your family and friends can purchase SCRIP and help pay for your children's Christian Education!
What stores are available through SCRIP?
Currently there are over 30 stores and restaurants available, including Kwik Trip, Pick N' Save, Festival Foods, Piggly Wiggly, Kohls, Walmart, Culvers, McDonalds, Burger King, Wendy's, and many more. The mix of stores change with purchasing trends and the amount of requests for other stores. Some stores do not participate in this program. Check in the office to see if your desired store is available!
When can SCRIP be purchased?
SCRIP can be purchased any time the school office is open, including before and after school. It is also available during the summer during school office hours.

Can I apply Scrip for this year's tuition?
No. The SCRIP program runs from July 1st to June 30th of each year. For example: SCRIP purchased between July 2022 and June 2023 will be applied to the August 2023 registration.
