Education

Education for Time and Eternity

St. Paul Lutheran Elementary School was founded in 1879 by the congregation of St. Paul Lutheran Church. Since then, the Lutheran Elementary School has served thousands of families and students in helping to nurture and raise children in the ways of the Bible, God's inspired, perfect word. We offer a rigorous curriculum in historic downtown Appleton.  Our curriculum, whether religious or secular, has Christ at the center.  He alone is the focus of our Christian education program.  Through our religious lessons and all subject areas, they learn about the amazing grace of God--that he would send his Son, Jesus, to live in our place, die in our place, and now prepares a place in heaven for us. We truly offer education for time and eternity!

We are a member of the Wisconisn Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS), which is headquartered in Milwaukee, WI.  The WELS school system is the third largest parochial system in the United States.

St. Paul Mission

On Sunday, March 5 through Tuesday, March 7, 2017, our ministries hosted an accreditation team from Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod School Accreditation (WELSSA).  This accrediting organization is also recognized by the National Council for Private School Accreditation (NCPSA).  While on our campus, the team, consisting of four members, compared our ministry to 241 different standards of a high performing school.  We received 230.5 out of 241, for a final score of 96%.  This resulted in the status of “Exemplary Accreditation”.  We want to thank the visitation team of Rob Dusseau (Risen Savior, Milwaukee, captain), Paul Hartwig (FVL, Appleton, ret.), Laura Barnett (St. Pius Catholic, Appleton), and Nate Schultz (Peace, Hartford) for their work on our behalf.  Also, we want to thank the faculty, staff, students, and members of St. Paul Lutheran Ministries: Church~School~Childcare for all of their hard work and dedication to making disciples of all nations and teaching them to obey all that Christ has commanded (Matthew 28:19-20).  We will now look to improve our ministries even more with a 5-year School Improvement Plan.  To God be the glory!

Wisconsin Parental Choice Program (WPCP)

Information for the 2018-2019 School Year:
  1. St. Paul has been a part of the Wisconsin Parental Choice Program since 2015-2016.
  2. Under this program--funded by the State of Wisconsin--parents have a voice in how their tax dollars are spent on the education of their children. At St. Paul, we believe parents are best equipped to decide what school is the best fit for their child. This program allows more families to choose Christian education for their sons and daughters.
  3. Families are asked to set up an appointment with Mr. Rehberger before they apply.
  4. St. Paul encourages all qualifying families to apply by April 20th.
  5. All families who applied and received a voucher for 2017-2018 need to go to the DPI website to apply for the 2018-2019 school year. Once your application has been been entered, the DPI site will list what documentation is needed for you to bring to St. Paul for verification.
