St. Paul's "Living Legacy Emphasis" stewardship program began in August 2011. As stated in our logo, the members of St. Paul want to "appreciate, maintain and pass on" a legacy to future generations of Christ's believers. The motivation for this program is thankfulness for Christ's love. To kick off this emphasis a Bible study was held titled, "Glimpses of the Gift of Giving". In this study the final encouragement was taken from 2 Corinthians 9:12: "12 This service that you perform is not only supplying the needs of God's people but is also overflowing in many expressions of thanks to God.
As a result of this emphasis, St. Paul church plans to generate funds for our 150th Anniversary Projects. In 2017 St. Paul congregation will celebrate 150 years of grace. Our church and school buildings are in need of updating. Some of the Anniversary projects we wish to accomplish are: replacing the church roof, repairs to the church steeples, renovating the church interior and several energy saving projects in the church and school buildings.
It has been a pleasure to see how our gracious God has moved the hearts of His people. At the end of December 2011, over $880,000 has been promised for the anniversary projects. The goal of the Living Legacy Emphasis is $1.5 million. It is our prayer that this goal is met by 2015 so all projects can be accomplished.
